Class Booboos

I hate to admit it but it's true. Sometimes, when we are used to facing students who would eat up all what we give, we ran out of reasons when few good students dared to ask questions, particularly when these are very basic information that we have already overlooked or forgotten. Let me share with you some basic questions thrown by students which confused me... my bobooss hehehe Why is bamboo a grass? My Answer: Bamboo is not a tree, it is a grass because... well, what is the difference between a bamboo and a tree? (A student said bamboo does not bear flowers). Me:I don't think so. There are many grasses that bear flowers. I am On-Leave Today

Yesterday was the longest day in the Philippines (summer solstice) and today will be the longest day in the US. Coincidentally, today is my only daughter's FOURTH birthday. Since this is her first year in the nursery school, we decided to throw a small party for her. For my MWF classes, I will not meet you today but pay attention to the various links I posted in this blog for your research activities. Today is also the oath-taking of our new CPAs in RSC. Jubeth, Tala and Bhelbhel. Congrats. Congrats.

4 Filipino students snag int'l science fair honors

Tan, GMANews.TV MANILA, Philippines - Four Filipino students were among the winners of one of the largest pre-college science and technology research competitions in the world, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said Friday. In a statement, Science Secretary Estrella Alabastro said the students won at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) held from May 10 to May 16. The event attracted 1,563 young scientists from 56 countries. Alabastro identified the students as Angeli Joyce Yap-Dy, 14, of Capiz National High School; Jovani Tomale, 16, of Davao City National High School; and the team of Kevin Jer David, 16, and Orven Jules Dumaoang, 16, of the Philippine Science High School-Diliman Campus.
